Sunny Isles Beach fills a roughly two-mile strip of barrier island with the Atlantic on one side and the Intracoastal on the other, and Collins Avenue is lined almost end to end with oceanfront condo towers. The public beach runs the full length of the city. Small parks such as Samson Oceanfront Park, at 17425 Collins Avenue, open up gaps between the towers, and the Newport Fishing Pier stretches out over the water. Aventura Mall is a short drive west. For flights, Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport is about 14 miles to the north, and Miami International Airport is roughly 19 miles to the south. Marinas and boat access are on the Intracoastal side of the island.
