Kendall is a grid of subdivisions of detached homes, built up mostly from the 1960s onward. Its main corridors are Kendall Drive and the Palmetto Expressway. The commercial center is Dadeland Mall and the cluster of stores around it. In the northeast corner, where Kendall Drive meets US-1, Metrorail stops at Dadeland North and Dadeland South. Large county parks throughout the area provide open green space, among them Continental Park and Kendall Indian Hammocks Park.
